The Leprechaun
Leprechaun 4: In Space is the fifth in the Leprechaun horror movie series. It's in space, but that's what makes it so awesome. Leprechaun 4 shows how to make a ludicrous idea "special." The movie has realistic effects, imaginative killings, and hilarious Leprechaun lines. If you like the Leprechaun series or horror films, watch Leprechaun 4: In Space.
Pinhead
As a precursor and a sequel, Hellraiser: Bloodline is an interesting addition to the franchise. The plot covers three separate historical periods: the 1700s, the 1990s, and the 2200s. Honestly, I didn't have big hopes for the fourth film in the series, and to be honest, the only reason I'm watching is to see more of Pinhead and the Cenobites. It is always a delight to watch Doug Bradley play because he retains that chilly, menacing, and demonic vibe. This makes no logic and is tough to understand, but who cares about any of those things? Even if you've watched the whole Hellraiser series, you should still see Bloodline for the frightening parts with Pinhead. If you loved Hellraiser or any of the other works by Clive Barker, you should check out this one for sure. Even though there isn't a whole lot of logic to it, it's still a tremendously interesting ride.
Critters
I have to confess that I was fascinated when I heard that Critters 4 would be set in space. How could they possible outdo the previous Critters films? But then I saw the cast list, and it didn't seem good. Dourif, Brad? What about Angela Bassett? Anders Hove, a well-known Danish actor? I simply didn't see how this could work.
And my fears were confirmed when I finally saw Critters 4. The story was bad, the characters were bad, and it was just a rip-off of other franchises set in a terrible location. What really hurts from a fan perspective is that the very things that made the previous entries unique and entertaining are either completely stripped out or just not present at all. Critters 4 is a complete mess and a huge disappointment.
Dracula
Dracula 3000 is so terrible it's (Dracula 3000) virtually unwatchable. I loathe Dracula 3000. Even though it's terrible throughout, the finale left me feeling unfulfilled. I thought "Dracula in Space" would be horrible yet good, but it was dreadful. The notion is amusing, but the acting and conversation are awful. Watch it if you want to feel unhappy all day.
Also, Coolio. Coolio is there. Did I say that?
Jason Voorhees
Jason X is the most renowned horror movie sequel in space. Jason Voorhees is legendary. It's irrelevant how he got into space. Nobody cares why he's in space. Jason's presence in space is all that counts.
In my view, Jason X is worth seeing for easter eggs and nods to past Friday the 13th movies, as well as his metamorphosis into Uber Jason.
While this movie isn't everyone's bag, it's a terrific viewing for horror movie enthusiasts who adore campy, cheesy, slasher pictures.
